How to delete your Beso account and what happens to your data.

How to delete your account

You can delete your account directly from the Beso app. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Beso app and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap your profile picture or the person icon in the top-right corner of the Home screen.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the Profile screen.
  4. Tap "Delete Account".
  5. Confirm by tapping "Delete" in the confirmation dialog.

Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted immediately.

What data is deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your profile (name, birthday, avatar)
  • Your email address and authentication credentials
  • All photos and videos you uploaded
  • All love notes you sent
  • All comments you made on photos
  • All calendar events you created
  • Your date idea favorites and custom date ideas
  • Your push notification token and notification preferences
  • Your couple membership

What data may be retained

  • Audit logs — Records of account deletion and security-sensitive actions are retained for compliance and fraud prevention purposes.
  • Crash reports — Anonymous error reports previously sent to our crash reporting service (Sentry) are retained for up to 90 days.
  • Couple data — If your partner still has an active account, the couple record is soft-deleted with a 7-day grace period. Shared content created by your partner (their photos, their events) remains under their account.

Deleting data without deleting your account

You can also delete specific data without deleting your entire account:

  • Photos — Delete individual photos or use bulk selection on the Gallery screen.
  • Calendar events — Delete events from the event detail screen.
  • Couple membership — Leave your couple from the Profile screen without deleting your account.

Export your data

Before deleting your account, you can export a copy of your data. Go to Profile → Export My Data to download a JSON file containing your profile, events, and other account information.
